Personal and team development
Team facilitation | Team development workshops
Team facilitation
Putting the primary focus on the subject matter, with the approach shaped to promote team development. This involves:
- applying normal facilitation approaches to the subject to ensure that the team achieves the required results for the task at hand
- at the same time exploring and reviewing issues in team working – team maturity, balance of skills and roles, interpersonal relationships, issues around trust and conflict, etc
- working together to develop healthy team relationships
Team development workshops
Putting the primary focus on team development. I deliver workshops (one-off or in short series) to explore and develop team effectiveness. The focus is typically on interpersonal relationships, team roles and individual and team behaviours. Where appropriate I call on specific resources to support this work. These include:
- Myers Briggs Type Inventory Step I and Step II (MBTI)
- Belbin Team Roles
- the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)
- the Five Dysfunctions of a Team model
- Situational Leadership and Power Bases
- DISC assessments
- Personal Interests, Attitudes and Values (PIAV)
Where standard resources don’t fit, I develop bespoke approaches to enable the team to tackle the issues they face in the most effective and appropriate way.
